In 1949 Pat Kehoe and Frank France were young educators with a dream to develop a non-denominational coeducational elementary school that focused on the fundamentals of academics and at the same time provided students with opportunities to engage in the arts and athletics. Since then, the school has become a place of excellence where all students are engaged in high quality, real-world learning.

Kehoe-France Southshore has a mission to give each student a strong academic foundation, promote social skills and physical wellbeing as well as nurture cultural and ethical development in a caring and aesthetically pleasing environment. Kehoe-France looks to the future with a long-range, strategic plan to reinforce the values of honesty, compassion, personal integrity and fairness, to ultimately encourage children to achieve their full potential whilst remaining responsible citizens who are lifelong learners. The school is well-equipped with facilities including a large gymnasium, a barn-art complex, children centre, music building, band room, playing fields, tennis courts and swimming pools, with the hopes that an environment which supports the extra-curricular growth of children and students will inspire development beyond academics.

The school firmly believes in challenging students to achieve academic, personal and social success as well as promoting respect, individual differences and diversity within the community.�� A professional and highly motivated staff, in partnership with parents, allows for the successful development of the children and students at Kehoe-France Southshore, and prepares them for acceptance into the finest high schools in the New Orleans area.
